Day 1

The quintessential breakfast spot is Café Pasqual’s, which serves traditional New Mexican cuisine. Get in line before 9:00AM or you will have to wait an hour! After breakfast, take a stroll over to The Palace of the Governors. It is within the Santa Fe Historic District and it served as the seat of government for the state of New Mexico for centuries. For many visitors to Santa Fe, the Palace is best known for its block-long portal where Native American artisans sell handmade jewelry and other crafts. Behind the adobe walls, visitors can find interpretive galleries, the Palace Press, and a large courtyard that connects with the rest of the museum campus. Although work has been done to improve heating and cooling, lighting, and visitor access, care has been taken to maintain the building’s historic character.

Next, head over to WholeFoods and pick up a few handmade sandwiches for the lunch picnic at the Aspen Vista Picnic Ground. This is one of the most beautiful drives in the Santa Fe area with views of the southwestern mountains as you drive threw one of the largest aspen groves in the U.S. At this point you’re probably feeling a bit worn down. On your way down from the Santa Fe Ski Basin stop off at Ten Thousand Waves for a soak in one of their many soaking tubs filled with naturally heated spring water or receive a massage from one of their licensed massage therapists. Then head home for a nice break and a chance to recharge your batteries for tonight’s events. For dinner tonight were going to be eating at one of the City Different's famed locations Joseph’s Table. Here you will find traditional cuisine with a New Mexican twist. With spectacular service whether you’re in the bar or have chosen a more intimate experience seated next to the fire place, you’ll love it. After dinner were going to head on over to El Farol a night cap with the locals, with a live band and a warm crowd it’s the perfect end to a long day of exploration.
